The Link building located in the first suburb of Ginninderry, Strathnairn will be holding tours, talks and a cooking demonstration for the public on Sustainable House Day on Sunday, September 17.
Established in 2001, Sustainable House Day is a national event that allows the public to see and learn from the best environmental homes in Australia. It aims to inspire people to live sustainably, showing them how to lower energy bills, live comfortably and help the environment through good home design, practices and technology.
Ginninderry will this year join more than 150 homeowners nationwide in showcasing the award winner sustainable building, The Link to the community to pass on tips and advice, including on solar power, home batteries, innovative building materials and design, and more.

Bring along your questions about building, energy efficiency and designing for the team of builders, home energy efficiency experts, sustainability gurus, designers, and more!
On hand will be Ginninderry’s Sustainability Manager Jessica Stewart and Hoa Luu Design Manager, ActewAGL, ACTSmart, Solarhub, ITP home energy, Reposit Power, members from the Ginninderry builders’ panel and Paul Nagle and Jodie Pipkorn from Commonsense Sustainability Solutions.
Visitors will also be in for a real treat with Australian Electric Vehicle Association/ Electric Vehicles Canberra showcasing the latest electric cars, bikes and golf cart!
1pm: Live cooking demonstration
Watch Hemant from Tikka Stand whip up a delicious chicken tikka on an induction stovetop and learn more about the cost saving benefits of electric vs. gas cooking.
