SPARK Programs – COVID-19 Update

The SPARK team is working hard to ensure that our programs can still be delivered in some way, shape or form during this challenging time. Please see information below for the status of all upcoming programs.

 

SPARK Community Services Taster Program SOUTH

Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) and SPARK are continuing to deliver this program via ELEARN – CIT’s online learning platform. For those participants that do not have access to a device and/ or the internet, SPARK is mailing out workbook packs which include reading materials and assessments with reply paid envelopes. Adinda, SPARK’s Relationship Manager is working closely with all participants to ensure they are being supported during this time.

SPARK Queanbeyan Construction Program

NSW TAFE and SPARK are continuing to deliver this program two days per week by via Microsoft Teams’ sessions. All participants are collecting their pack of learning materials each Friday from Queanbeyan TAFE for the following week of delivery. Mel, SPARK’s Relationship Manager is working closely with all participants to ensure they are being supported during this time.

SPARK Early Childhood Education & Care Program

Canberra Institute of Technology and SPARK will commence delivery of this program from mid-May via an online learning platform. The program will hold two online learning sessions per week and participants will be required to do 10-15 hours of study at home until the end of Term 2. We hope to be able to return to face to face classroom delivery in Term 3, pending COVID-19 restrictions being lifted. Mel, SPARK’s Relationship Manager is working closely with all participants to ensure they are being supported during this time.

SPARK Women Return to Work Program NORTH

The first workshop for this program was held on 17th March before COVID-19 restrictions came into effect. All of the women that attended the workshop have and will continue to work one on one with our delivery partner Career Shop, each able to access up to four hours of career development advice. We hope to deliver the remaining two workshop when restrictions are lifted. Adinda, SPARK’s Relationship Manager is also working closely with all participants and Career Shop to ensure they are being supported during this time.

SPARK Women Return to Work Program SOUTH

This program was due to commence in May 2020 with three workshops, however these have now been postponed until COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. SPARK has contacted all women who have registered for these sessions and if interested, will offer each of them four hours of career development advice with Career Shop. SPARK still aims to deliver the three original workshops when restrictions are lifted.

SPARK Women in Civil Construction Program

This program has been postponed until further notice. The SPARK team and program stakeholders will review the COVID-19 situation at the end of May with the view to implementing a new program timeline in the second half of 2020.

SPARK Business Administration Program

This program has been postponed until further notice. The SPARK team and program stakeholders will review the COVID-19 situation at the end of May 2020 with the view to implementing a new program timeline in the second half of the year.
