SLA issued a letter to residents within 1km of the southern boundary of the GRP outlining upcoming construction.
The letter can be viewed here.
Suburban Land Agency (SLA) and the Ginninderry Joint Venture are working on a project to transform and regenerate the former West Belconnen Resource Management Centre. Known as the Ginninderry Regeneration Precinct, the site has been closed to non-green waste since 2020 and has now reached the end of its operational life. Works will soon begin to construct a southern pathway break and undertake capping of the site.
The Ginninderry Regeneration Precinct is a 108-hectare parcel of land in the heart of Ginninderry. The ultimate objective is to transition the Precinct into a hub of recreation, community, and economic activity—adding significant value to the Canberra community.
The Ginninderry Joint Venture’s utmost priority is safety—the safety of current residents, future residents, and the environment. Over the past eight years, the Precinct has undergone extensive, science-led research and rehabilitation by ACT Government-funded independent auditors. That research will now inform the Precinct’s regeneration (i.e. reuse), underpinned by precautionary principles and subject to the relevant government approval processes.
