Building a Sustainable Community

Sustainability means a lot of different things to a lot of people.

To me, a sustainable community is one which has been planned and built with a focus on connectedness, consideration for the environment and custodianship. We have spent the last 10 years designing and planning Ginninderry to give our new residents the best possible start to a sustainable lifestyle. This includes, creating safe, connected bike ways, productive landscapes, water sensitive urban design and creating places that the community can come together to interact, to learn and to share their stories.

The Ginninderry team have, and will continue, to incorporate sustainability into the urban design of the community. We have prepared many different factsheets and information booklets to help our new residents make the most of their new homes and their new community. I hope that our new residents, take up the batten and become the new custodians for the unique country of Ginninderry. With your help, we can really make this a sustainable community that continues to thrive over not only our lifetimes, but those of many generations to come.
