The Link – open for business

Ginninderry’s multi-purpose community centre, The Link, officially opened today ahead of what promises to be a weekend full of activity to support the first sales release.

57 blocks of land, 17 homes in the Flex-living series and a range of house and land packages will be released tomorrow, with registrations commencing from 9am.

Today’s VIP event saw notable members of the local and West Belconnen arts community gather at The Link to celebrate its completion, mingling amidst its recycled construction materials to hear presentations from Riverview Developments Managing Director David Maxwell, Minister for the Arts and Community Events Gordon Ramsay, Land Development Agency Greenfields Executive Director Tom Gordon, and Strathnairn Arts Association Director, Peter Haynes.

For Ginninderry, the ACT’s first 6-star Green Star – Communities development, The Link has been designed to complement the rural character of the surrounding buildings of Strathnairn.

It represents not just a facility to host training, community gatherings, ad hoc project initiatives and exhibition space for the Strathnairn arts community, but a place where community and culture can grow.

The opening of The Link represents an important milestone achievement in what is anticipated to be a 30-year project, but also the first tangible example of what future residents can expect from the team’s commitment to encouraging sustainable living.
