Successful construction training and employment program returns to Queanbeyan

The Queanbeyan campus of TAFE NSW will once again host the SPARK Construction program in 2021, delivered in partnership with Ginninderry.

The announcement of the 2021 program follows the success of the course in 2020 where local participants received accredited construction training, setting them up for continuing study and apprenticeship opportunities.

Ginninderry Training and Employment Manager Emma Sckrabei said the success of the program demonstrated the benefits of providing construction pathway training in growing regional centres.

“The SPARK Queanbeyan Construction Program gives locals access to hands-on accredited training and work-experience without the need to cross the border”

“Queanbeyan is a fast-growing regional centre and our successful model aims to build critical skills and open employment pathways within our region”.

The 15-week program is delivered three days a week with modules in a combination of theory and practical hands-on learning and industry work experience.

Successful participants will receive a Certificate I in Construction Pathways and a Certificate II in Skills and Vocational Pathways along with industry specific training and work placements.

An information and enrolment session will be held at TAFE NSW Queanbeyan on Wednesday 3 March. Residents of Queanbeyan and district aged 16 years and over are eligible to apply.
