    The Link’s top recycling tips

Maintaining good recycling habits is crucial for the effectiveness of recycling programs everywhere. When contaminated or improperly sorted materials enter the recycling stream, they can cause entire batches of recyclables to be diverted to landfill, wasting both resources and the collective efforts of the community.

Proper recycling habits not only ensure that materials can be successfully processed and repurposed, but they also help maintain the efficiency of recycling facilities, reduce processing costs, and maximize the environmental benefits of recycling programs.

    Do’s and Don’ts

    • DO rinse containers before recycling
    • DO remove lids and caps
    • DON’T place recyclables in plastic bags – this will result in the entire bag going to landfill
    • DON’T include contaminated materials
