Treadwell Street Strathnairn Garden Commons – Workshop #1
- This event has passed.
The Strathnairn Garden Commons on Tredwell Street was envisaged, designed and planted by Corey from Canberra Food Forestry with the support of a Ginninderry Community Grant. Corey’s goal was to turn an empty patch of lawn into a thriving garden common that the community will have ownership of and reap the benefits from.
Corey has set up the garden and is offering a workshop series to teach, inspire and gather likeminded community members together to take ownership and care of the gardens into the future. Ultimately, the garden commons are a public garden provided for the community by the community. It can thrive long into the future with your participation and help to keep it alive and growing.
Workshops will be held on:
- 11 Oct – Introducing the gardens
- 6 Dec – Pruning, watering & maintenance
- 21 Mar 2026- Harvesting, planting & preparing for winter
We will meet at the Strathnairn Garden Commons on Tredwell Street at 9:30am
Morning tea will be provided.
