Improvements to streams along proposed conservation corridor
As part of the comprehensive stormwater control strategy for Ginninderry (technically known as Water Sensitive Urban Design) our team is actively investigating potential improvement to streams within the proposed conservation corridor. Several experts in engineering, ecology and land rehabilitation recently enjoyed a 5 hour hike along the stream that runs from stage 1 of the project to the Murrumbidgee River.
Their excursion included the area of the future Riverside Park to look at where carparks, recreational facilities and boardwalks could potentially go, as well as the alignment of the road leading to the proposed picnic area.
This work is part of our ongoing commitment to environmental protection and enhancement, and the creation of new facilities to benefit new and existing residents of West Belconnen.
