Your February Guide: What’s On in and around Ginninderry
After the whirlwind of holidays and back-to-school, February offers a chance to breathe and find your rhythm. The days are still warm, the evenings stretch long enough for post-dinner walks, and our routines are mostly back to normal.
As we settle into February, we’re also looking forward to one of Ginninderry’s most meaningful traditions, the 6th Annual Community Iftar, where neighbours gather to break fast and celebrate together.
Whether you’re after outdoor adventures, creative pursuits, fitness activities, or opportunities to embrace community connection, February’s calendar has something for everyone.
Here’s your complete guide to what’s on in and around Ginninderry this February.

EXHIBITIONS & EVENTS
Songbird – Exhibition Derryth Nash
Local artist Derryth brings together two of her greatest passions – nature and music – in this captivating dual exhibition at The Link Gallery throughout February. The first series features small sculptures crafted from recycled guitar strings, feathers, and found objects, each piece celebrating birds and the natural world with creativity and resourcefulness. The second series showcases contemporary acrylic wildlife paintings with a particular focus on our feathered friends, capturing the beauty and character of Australian birdlife. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see how music and nature intertwine through art, and perhaps find that perfect piece to take home.

Southern Almanac: Neil and Julie Colbran
Neil and Julie Colbran present a beautiful exploration of our southern landscape at Strathnairn Arts. Neil’s crafted tables and trays celebrate reclaimed Australasian hardwoods, whilst Julie’s expressionist multimedia works capture the atmospheric forces and seasonal variations that define our region. Together, they explore the contradictions of a landscape that’s both massive and fragile, timeless yet ephemeral. Meet the artists Thursday-Sunday, 11am-2pm.
February 4 until March 1 | Homestead Galleries 1 & 2, Strathnairn Arts | Wed-Sun, 10am-4pm | Free | More information here
Light Journeys: Catherine Kingham
Catherine Kingham’s evocative paintings capture the profound beauty of dawn walks from Kingston to Narrabundah – a journey of physical recovery, gratitude, and rediscovering wonder in the everyday. Each work reflects those transformative hours either side of sunrise when silhouettes slowly vivify in colour, sound, and motion. Through her lens, concrete, camellias, and carports all dance in light, revealing the extraordinary in the ordinary. It’s a deeply personal exhibition about resilience, the healing power of nature and movement, and seeing the world fresh each day. Meet the artist and experience these luminous celebrations of transient beauty.

Expect rivalry, romance, backstage chaos, and plenty of laughs in this “absolute joy from beginning to end” (Daily Express) that transforms the beloved film into riotously funny theatre. With multiple showtimes throughout the month including matinees, there’s plenty of opportunity to catch this rollicking celebration of love, creativity, and the Bard himself.
