The Link Artspace is proud to present a unique exhibition showcasing the remarkable environmental initiative Lids4Kids Australia

Running until Sunday 4 May, this exhibition highlights how one organisation is turning everyday plastic waste into practical, colourful products while making a significant environmental impact.

Lids4Kids is a volunteer-run not-for-profit charity with a simple yet powerful mission: saving plastic bottle lids from landfill and transforming them into useful products. Founded in 2019 by Canberra resident and full-time dad Tim Miller, the organisation emerged from a simple question about where to recycle thousands of plastic bottle lids collected by Miller and his three sons.

When informed by the ACT Government that plastic items smaller than a credit card couldn’t be recycled through conventional means, Miller connected with Victorian based not-for-profit Envision to create a solution. Together, they established a program that collects plastic lids and transforms them into mobility aids for children in need.

    About the exhibition

The exhibition at Link Artspace will showcase the impressive range of products created through the Lids4Kids recycling program, including:

    • School and garden benches
    • Picnic tables
    • Table-tops
    • Pens
    • Carabiners

Visitors will gain insight into the organisation’s Community Recycling & Education Centre (HUB) and the transformative process that takes plastic waste from potential landfill contributors to valuable, sustainable products.

Join us at Link Artspace to witness how community action and creative recycling are combining to reduce waste, help children in need, and inspire environmental stewardship throughout the community.
