Step into Botanical Art  FREE workshops for adults with Margaret Saul Observational Drawing

All levels of drawing ability accommodated

Explore, observe, discover, and with a little botanical knowledge as backup enjoy being totally immersed in the art of plants while learning to draw, or to enhance your botanical drawing skills.

Take a break from your routine and step into a delightful space where art and nature intertwine. Draw from real life, without slavishly copying static photographic images, and uncover your inner artist.

Closely observe and truly capture your subject’s unique shapes, forms, and textures, and bring your art to life on the sketchbook page.

Start by understanding the basics – desk setup, posture, drawing modes, observation of “shapes and relationships”, perspective concepts.  Make the pencil express your enjoyment of amazing forms and textures either in line or tone and see your drawing appear to pop out from your flat sketching page.  Drawing ability is key to creating beautiful botanical art – and essential when needing to rely on photo images.
