Macnamara Nature Park opens: Where play meets art and nature
Macnamara Nature Park is now open, offering families a stunning new outdoor space where contemporary Aboriginal art, innovative play equipment, and spectacular natural views come together.
What sets this park apart is the beautiful integration of art throughout the space. Local artist Leah Brideson, whose work features in Ginninderry’s First Nations Design Library, has created ‘Life Source’ – an artwork that weaves through the entire park, adorning playground equipment, shelters, water stations, and screening elements.
Leah, a Canberra-based self-taught Contemporary Aboriginal (Kamilaroi) artist, celebrates the deep connections between water, land, and community. Her work invites families to consider the cultural significance of the landscape whilst children play and explore.
Located at the northern end of Macnamara, the nature park offers playground equipment for all ages, a shelter to provide welcome shade, water station, and perhaps its most spectacular feature – sweeping views across Ginninderry towards the majestic Brindabella Mountains.
Offering traditional play equipment, alongside the opportunity for children to connect with the natural environment through unstructured play that develops creativity and problem-solving skills, the park has something for everyone. The integration of Leah’s artwork reinforces the connection to Country, helping children understand and appreciate the cultural and environmental significance of the land.
For families building in Macnamara, this nature park is right on your doorstep. Imagine weekend mornings walking from your home to the park or late afternoon visits after school, where children play whilst you enjoy those stunning Brindabella views.
Meanwhile, the shelters provide perfect spots for birthday parties, community gatherings, or play dates.

With land available for sale, residents can enjoy privileged access to this beautiful community space, plus free* front gardens and construction waste management, and proximity to the Ginninderry Conservation Corridor.
As Macnamara grows, this park will become the heart of community life in the northern neighbourhood.
