Hitting the walking trails, or passing through Belconnen? Ginninderry is the perfect spot to recharge (yourself AND your EV).

For electric car owners, there’s a car charging station conveniently located at The Link on McClymont Way, Strathnairn. And there’s plenty to explore while you wait. Here are five things to do within walking distance of the charging station.

Hire an E-Bike at The Link and explore

Get pedalling and take yourself on a self-guided tour of Ginninderry. Our fleet of electric bikes provides an innovative and environmentally friendly way to get about. The bikes are free for the first two hours, making it an affordable daytime activity.

Ginninderry has a dedicated network of cycle paths to help you easily navigate the area. Find the docking station at the entrance to The Link

Trek to one of the Ginninderry Conservation Corridor’s many lookouts

Keen to stretch your legs? Enjoy Canberra’s first swing bridges and immerse yourself in the Ginninderry Conservation Corridor’s natural beauty by exploring over 13km of walking tracks, taking in expansive landscapes along the Murrumbidgee River. The tracks offer a range of distances with option to suit various fitness levels, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The Conservation Corridor is a Nature Reserve, so no pets are allowed.

Take the kids to Paddys Park

Parents know you plan your trip around playgrounds, not pit stops. Paddys Park is one of the best, with a slippery dip, climbing ropes, and a mini obstacle course. It’s also right by a multi-use sports court, and cricket nets for the tweens and teens. Let the kids wear themselves out before you jump back in the car.

Sit back and recharge at Cafe Stepping Stone

Need to refuel more than the car? Cafe Stepping Stone in Strathnairn is known for keeping the locals happy, with its unique vegetarian menu and spectacular setting. Try their scones with jam and cream, ricotta pancakes, or an egg and halloumi roll.

There are juices, milkshakes and smoothies for the kids, and plenty of caffeinated options for the adults. The cafe also provides inclusive employment opportunities for migrant and refugee women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.  They’re open Wednesday to Sunday from 9 am till 4 pm.

Be inspired by a stroll through Strathnairn Arts

Home to a range of unique handmade works by local artists and makers, Strathnairn Arts is the ideal spot for a stroll. Set in a converted 1920s homestead, the gallery, shop and cafe boast stunning views of the Brindabella Mountains.
