The Link

Showcasing best practice, innovative and sustainable design and construction.

The Link is Ginninderry’s multi-purpose community and information facility. Currently, it hosts our project management team and sales office, whilst also being used for art exhibitions, workshops, training and community gatherings.

It also features a barbecue,  community and native garden beds, children’s play house and art installations throughout.

Having hosted a range of community events and programs, this building and its surrounding area will increasingly be utilised as a venue for community events, festivals as well as performing and creative arts programs.

This major asset has been designed by noted architects Collard Clarke Jackson and built by Manteena. It showcases Ginninderry’s commitment to sustainability. A large solar cell on the roof generates the building’s power. The structure has a high recycled content with many items being 100 per cent reclaimed or recycled. Large water tanks collect rainwater from the roof for our toilets and to help irrigate the drought tolerant gardens.

In the initial stages of development it will house the development and sales team, ultimately becoming a centre for the local community to use and enjoy. ArtsACT have an executive lease over the site, with Strathnairn one of their public art facilities.

The Link will be an entry point and visitor centre for the conservation corridor which runs along the Murrumbidgee River and Ginninderra Creek. The river corridor will provide nature conservation, recreational, educational, tourism, scientific, cultural and other community benefits and will be managed by a conservation management trust.
