From meeting Bluey to a sunset picnic, the Ginninderry Inspire Festival is packed full of fun. And with a stellar line-up planned (including talks from some of the nation’s top sustainability celebrities), there’ll be plenty to see, do, and try at Strathnairn Arts on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 September.

Bluey will make a star appearance in person for smiles, photos (and plenty of flossing, of course!). While the ‘meet & greet’ booking sessions for Bluey are close to selling out, there will still be an opportunity to see Bluey for real life.
Hear stories from renowned nature filmmaker Dr. Chadden Hunter
Chadden has spent two decades working alongside Sir David Attenborough. Known for his work on iconic documentaries such as Planet Earth, Frozen Planet, and Seven Worlds, One Planet, he’ll bring his wealth of experience in exploring the planet’s most remote regions to Inspire, sharing stories, insights, and exclusive footage.
Be inspired by a writer and comedian waging war on waste
Don’t miss Craig Reucassel, an Australian writer and comedian best known for his work with The Chaser and for going through your bins on The War on Waste.
Craig was involved in the satirical newspaper The Chaser and went on to TV shows like CNNNN and The Chaser’s War on Everything. He’s also hosted two series of the award-winning War on Waste documentary as well as climate change documentaries Fight for Planet A and Big Weather.
Celebrate at Strathnairn Arts’ Open Day
The Inspire Festival 2024 is being held at Strathnairn Arts Association, who will be holding their open day as part of the festival. Meet local artists and view their studios, join in some bowl decorating, or simply wander through the annual ‘Squares’ exhibition.
In addition to guest appearances, there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved with workshops and activities for all ages, as well as food and markets, live music and more.
Settle in for a sunset picnic at the Brindabella Sunset Session
Make sure you get along for the festival kick-off at 5.30 pm on Friday 6 September for a sunset picnic and live blues and roots music. You can also explore the Squares exhibition and vote in the annual People’s Choice competition.
Get involved in workshops and activities
On Saturday 7 September, the festival will offer a variety of activities, including workshops on sustainable living, local art displays, and interactive experiences for all ages. Learn how to make a mini-wicking bed, prescribe yourself some creative first aid or join in some community painting with local Ngunawal artists Wilay Designs.
Peek inside artists’ studios
Visitors will have the unique opportunity to meet the resident artists of Strathnairn Arts and witness their creative processes firsthand.
Come together as a community
Ngunnawal artists will be running a community painting workshop, and the outcome will become the backdrop for the Santa photos at this year’s Christmas in the Park celebration.
