The Ginninderry Festival: A day of free family fun!
Mark Saturday 29 August in your calendar – the inaugural Ginninderry Festival is coming to The Link, and it’s a day the whole family will enjoy!
Let’s start with the fun stuff – unlimited free rides for all ages. There will be a Giant Slide, Cups and Saucers, Pirate Ship, the Storm, and Bungee Trampolining to keep adrenaline pumping throughout the afternoon. Fun for every age and thrill-seeking level.
An outstanding lineup of local artists will provide the soundtrack. Expect a soulful, engaging performance from Michael Bray, distinctive percussion-oriented guitar looping and laid-back vibes from Azlan, Maddy Proud’s genre-spanning music, and a diverse, quality lineup rounded out by The Po Boys and the Amosa Family.
Beyond the rides and music, there’s face painting for kids, roving performers keeping energy high, fun games and laughter, and a bicycle repair station offering free basic tune-ups.

Browse local market stalls and discover community makers and small businesses. Indulge in delicious food from various vendors, plus some of the studios at Strathnairn Arts will be accessible during the festival, so you can peek behind the curtain at how local artists work.
As if the free rides, live music and local food trucks weren’t enough, Raiders and NRL legend Mal Meninga will be making a special appearance. One of the greatest players the game has ever seen and a true icon of Canberra rugby league, it’s a rare chance to meet the man himself.
For newcomers considering whether Ginninderry might be home, the festival offers a real snapshot of community character. For current residents, it’s simply a chance to celebrate the place you’ve chosen and enjoy time with your neighbours.

Whether you’re chasing thrills on the rides, discovering local artists, enjoying great food, exploring Strathnairn Arts, or simply relaxing with live music – there’s something for everyone. Bring family, bring friends, or bring your bikes for the repair station.
We can’t wait to see you there!
