Rolling pin ready? The Great Ginninderry Bake-off returns this July

There’s something truly magical about the smell of freshly baked goods, and we’re thrilled that the Great Ginninderry Bake-off is back for another delicious round!

Whether you’re the kind of person to have a spare sourdough starter in the pantry, or someone whose baking adventures usually end with the smoke alarm, there’s a place for you at this fun event on Saturday 12 July.

This year’s competition features four categories that truly celebrate the diversity of our baking community:

  • Best biscuit – Whether you’re team Anzac or devoted to shortbread, this is your moment to shine.
  • Best cake – From humble sponges to elaborate layer creations, we want to see what makes your kitchen special.
  • A slice of home – This is where things get beautifully personal, showcasing international baked goods that tell the story of our wonderfully multicultural community.
  • Open kids’ category (under 15 years) – Because some of the most creative and joyful baking happens when little hands get involved.

If your talents lie more in appreciating excellent baking rather than creating it, we’re seeking judges for both our general panel and kids’ panel. It’s the perfect role for those who can distinguish between a good lamington and a great one, or who have strong opinions about the ideal biscuit-to-tea ratio.

Ready to get involved?

Dust off your mixing bowls, preheat those ovens, and get ready for an afternoon of sweet treats and great conversations!
