Applications now open: Ginninderry Community Grant & Sponsorship Program 2026-2027
Ginninderry’s Community Grants and Sponsorship Program is now open for applications, with local community groups, organisations and initiatives encouraged to apply before Sunday 17 May 2026.
This annual program supports projects and partnerships that align with Ginninderry’s vision – building a connected, inclusive and sustainable community. With a total funding pool of $95,000, the program is designed to bring ideas to life, strengthen community ties and create opportunities for people to come together.
Supporting local ideas and initiatives
The Community Grants stream offers a total pool of $10,000 to support grassroots projects within the Ginninderry community. Whether it’s a street pantry, community event, public art installation or something entirely new, these grants are all about encouraging creativity and participation at a local level.
The Sponsorship stream has $85,000 available and supports larger initiatives across the Capital Region, focusing on community development, sustainability and industry partnerships. Over the years, this funding has supported a wide range of activities, from sporting clubs and cultural events to environmental programs and community-driven initiatives.
Bringing community to life
Previous recipients highlight the meaningful impact these programs can have. Earlier this year, The Link transformed into a vibrant gathering space for WLEID’s Galentine’s Picnic, where women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds came together to connect and share experiences.
Local sporting organisations have also benefited, including the Belconnen Magpies Football Club, which received funding to support participation across all ages and abilities. With hundreds of junior players and a strong focus on inclusion – the club continues to play an important role in the region.
The program has also supported initiatives that provide direct support to those in need. Through the HelpingACT Christmas Drive, sponsorship funding helped deliver 250 food hampers to families across Canberra, packed by volunteers at The Link.
Cultural and community events have also flourished, with the Bangla Soccer Bash offering an inclusive and accessible sporting experience for players of all skill levels – demonstrating how small ideas, supported by funding, can grow into much-loved community traditions.
Ginninderry is committed to supporting ideas that foster connection, encourage participation and strengthen the community. Whether you’re part of a local group, not-for-profit, sporting club, or have an idea that could bring people together, this is your opportunity to make it happen.
Applications close on Sunday 17 May 2026, with successful applicants notified by 29 May 2026.
