This year marks a golden milestone for the Ginninderra Cricket Club, as the Tigers proudly celebrate 50 years of service as a premier institution in ACT Premier Cricket. 

Nestled at Kippax Ovals in Holt, Ginninderra has grown into far more than just a cricket club; it’s a cornerstone of community, development and sporting excellence across the ACT.

While Ginninderra Cricket Club traces its roots back to 1854, its modern story took shape in 1979, when the Club achieved Premier Grade status. From there, Ginninderra embarked on a transformative journey that has seen it rise from underdogs to champions, establishing a reputation for determination, inclusiveness and community spirit.

Over the past five decades, the Club has produced some of the ACT’s most talented cricketers. Many have gone on to represent the ACT Comets, Meteors and beyond, while countless others have developed their skills through Ginninderra’s junior and grassroots programs. This strong pathway has been a hallmark of the Tigers’ success and a testament to the Club’s commitment to nurturing the next generation.

Ginninderra’s story is about more than runs scored and wickets taken. The Tigers’ success has been built on the tireless work of volunteers, a culture of inclusion, and a dedication to giving back to the community. From coaching clinics and junior development to supporting local initiatives, Ginninderra continues to set the standard for what community sport should be, and Ginninderry is proud to be a loyal sponsor.

As part of this landmark celebration, Ginninderra Cricket Club is thrilled to announce its 50th Anniversary Dinner, a chance for past players, members, supporters and friends to come together and honour the Club’s rich history.
