Expression of Interest: Choir Conductor
The With One Voice Ginninderry Choir is seeking expressions of interest from suitably skilled people to conduct our choir from February, 2020.
About Our Choir: With One Voice Ginninderry Choir is an un-auditioned choir that aims to provide a fun space to sing and create new friendships. We are open to all people no matter their age, background or ability. The choir currently has between 15-20 active members.

Program Details:
Rehearsals: weekly rehearsals from 6:00pm – 7pm at The Link (90 Stockdill Drive, Strathnairn) commencing February, 2020.
Performances: up to six local events and festivals throughout the year
Repertoire: an eclectic range of songs including Australian and international well-loved pieces.
Role and Responsibilities of the Conductor:
- Select repertoire and musical arrangements, fitting to the choirs ability, in collaboration with Artistic Director and Accompanist
- Lead and manage weekly rehearsals
- Prepare for and lead public performances
- Welcome and encourage members of all abilities
- Teach warmups and exercises to develop skills and confidence
Skillsets Required:
- Choral conducting experience
- Vocal and instrumental skills to provide vocal coaching and basic accompaniment (piano or guitar)
Key Support Roles to the Conductor are:
- Choir Coordinator – administration, member recruitment, coordination of rehearsals and performances with the support of the choir committee
- Choir Committee – setting of overall objectives – performances, recruitment, marketing, member support, fundraising and financial administration
- Creativity Australia – mentoring, licencing and administrative support
Position Terms
The Choir Conductor is a paid position – negotiated based on skill level. The initial period of appointment will be 12 months with a review after 2 months to ensure both the conductor and the choir are a good fit with each other.
