The Charny Carny is a Carnival held in West Belconnen on an annual basis for the past 14 years. It’s purpose: to support two schools and the local scout club.

This year, ownership of the Charny Carny has changed from a formerly institution-led initiative, to one run purely by members of the West Belconnen community.

As keen advocates for encouraging local community engagement, it is the Ginninderry project team’s honour to partner with the Charny Carny committee in 2017 to help bring this iconic event alive.

Hosting and coordinating activities on the day will be our community and cultural planning manager, Susan Davis, who will be working with year 10 students from Kingsford Smith School on a landscape design project – a great activity for the whole family to try!

There will also be a host of rides, games, food and fun to be had, so be sure to check-in with the Charny Carny Facebook page or homepage for all your information needs and update.

Time: 11am – 5pm

Place: Charnwood Ovals, Canberra
