Meet Cathy Liu – Ginninderry’s Sales Administrator & Housing Compliance Officer
Who are the people behind Canberra’s most sustainable community? This week we meet Cathy Liu, Ginninderry’s Sales Administrator & Housing Compliance Officer.
Cathy has been working at Ginninderry for 7 years and as one of the original members of the sales team, Cathy has helped many people find their dream block of Flexi-living Home. Now moving into the role of Housing Compliance Officer, Cathy will help purchasers progress through the stages of design and construction compliance to ensure their transition into the Ginninderry community is as seamless as possible.
Tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a strong personality in the office and a straight shooter. If something needs to be done, I make sure it gets done.
I was born in China and before moving to Canberra in 2004, I completed a Diploma in Interior Design in China. In 2004, I came to Australia because I got an offer to study at the University of Canberra. As a mature-aged student, I completed my Bachelor of Communication and Media in 2008.
In 2008, while working at Harvey Norman, I was approached by the owner of Phillip Mazda who asked me to work for them. After a little bit of convincing, I moved into car sales. This was my first proper full-time job, which led to joining the Ginninderry sales team in 2017.
In my free time, I enjoy a good novel but have recently been finding myself reading more about family and career. When I’m not running off to Karate with my daughter, you’ll find me enjoying Pilates and Yoga.
What does your role bring to the Ginninderry project?
As a member of the sales team, I enjoy helping purchasers find their dream homes. Being the compliance officer, I can assist purchasers in completing the last part of their building journey before becoming a resident in Ginninderry.
It is really rewarding to see people move in and become a part of the community.
A fun Fact?
The key to my heart is a good Danish! And even though I worked in car sales for 9 years, I still don’t know how to drive a manual.
